What is combed cotton?

From the cotton plant, cotton is a natural fiber whose primary mission is to protect the seed of the shrub. The preparation of cotton begins with the harvesting and ginning of the fibers. They are then separated and cleaned before being combed. Combing is very important because it allows to eliminate the short fibers to keep only the longest cotton fibers. These long fibers bring a superior quality to the cotton yarn which will be finer, more resistant and softer. This cotton made of long fibers is called combed cotton.
